Niche

  • The bottle nose dolphin’s habitat is tropical waters around the world. Tropical meaning, they live in warm waters, places with warm climates.

  • The bodies of the offshore bottlenose dolphin help it conserve heat and defend itself against predators.

  • They usually hunt in pods 2-20 dolphins. They hunt small fishes, squids and crustaceans. There have been instances where pods of dolphins have eaten sharks when threatened or in danger.

  • They are eaten by aggressive sharks and orcas leaving them at nearly the top of the food chain.
